Have you been struggling to lose belly fat for years? Tried nearly every fad diet that came out? Sweated away at the gym doing cardio workouts? Did crunches till you were blue in the face? It did not work did it? So you gave up and told yourself it was genetics or your metabolism. The Essential Guide to Lose Belly Fat will show you different, with persistence and patience you can lose belly fat and in fact lose fat and tone your entire body.
It seems belly fat, potbelly, beer belly or more affectionately, love handles are becoming a problem for more people these days. Apart from our biological make up, today's lifestyle can have a great impact on the amount of weight we carry. More and more people are stuck behind a desk for longer hours with less time for exercise.

Junk food is so readily accessible the busy person will often grab a take away instead of a home cooked nutritious meal. And believe it not, stress can also have an effect on our body fat as well. Unfortunately, belly fat is very hard to move but it can be done.

It does not matter if you are looking to show off a six-pack or just want to trim down and get a flatter look around the waistline, knowing how to move this stubborn fat will have you on your way.
Recent research has shown that fat carried on the abdominal section of our bodies, that is waistline, stomach area and the area right beneath our breastbone is unhealthy and can lead to serious health problems.
Let us remember that we cannot spot reduce. There is no way we can concentrate on only one particular area of our body. It is vital to work on the body as a whole for optimum weight reduction. It is no use working to get a six-pack if they can't be seen under the fat!
Firstly, say good-bye to junk food.

Junk food contains high levels of sugar and this raises our blood sugars, which increase our appetite and leads to a reduction in our fat burning capacity. Open your cupboards and discard all sweets, chip cookies etc.
Next, we have to think about our carbohydrate intake. Yes, we do need carbs but the types of carbs like white bread, donuts, cakes pasta etc must be avoided. A healthier option would be whole meal or multi-grains. Good carbs such as those in found in vegetables and fresh fruit are ideal as are oats or brown rice. Always include protein in your meal for a balanced diet.

Avoid late night snacks as people usually go straight to bed and this will cause your blood sugars to rise and as no energy is used, the excess sugar will turn to fat.
And now for a biggy, lose the booze! Alcohol increase belly fat. How often do you see heavy drinkers with the tell tale beer belly.

Don't kid yourself that because you don't drink beer you are OK. Most of the mixers used with spirits are full of sugar. One gram of alcohol equates to about 7 calories and as there are no nutrients in alcohol all over those calories will be stored as fat.
Exercise is vital to help lose that belly fat. It is no good making all these dietary changes and then sitting on your backside in front of the TV.

You have to get up and move. I am not suggesting you run a marathon but some properly controlled movement is essential. Jogging and running has been proven not to be effective. Nor is doing 100's of crunches or sit-ups. Yes, crunches and sit up will strengthen your abs but will not remove the layer of fat covering them and in fact increasing these muscles without removing the fat may actually make this area look bigger.

Buying or hiring expensive weight reducing or abdominal exercise equipment is a waste of your hard-earned money. But using a combination of interval and resistance training is ideal as is a martial arts class such as kickboxing, karate, or kung fu. By using the tips in the Essential Guide to Lose belly Fat and taking these positive steps, you will not only make you feel great by improving your health and fitness levels but will also improve your overall appearance as well as shifting that stubborn unhealthy belly fat to reveal those wonderful strong abs.
